Soli Davis, the Spa Director greets all her clients with a warm embracing smile ready to facilitate, heal and pamper all.  She recommended I get the Microdermabrasion Treatment with Reflexology add on service to re-texturize the skin’s surface.  The treatment was performed on the most comfortable heated massage /skin care treatment bed which was simply wonderful for my back and really relaxed my state of mind.  First she removed all makeup with a cleanser and lavender water which calms the skin and body.

The Microdermabrasion Treatment which uses a rapid vacuum action machine to exfoliate the skin with crystals.    Soli explains, ”Your skin was a bit sensitive on your neck, so I wanted to hydrate and brighten that area gently.”  The movements in the treatment were reflexology, shiatsu, lymphatic drainage and Tibetan Ayurvedic Marma Points, as well as some traditional European Facial movements. “Generally the movements are used to try to ” re-texturize the skin using the microdermabrasion machine- who’s vacuum action with the crystals help to evenly and rapidly exfoliate the skin.  It also increases circulation and cell renewal.”  “I also used Bionova’s Exfoliating Cleanser for further brightening from the inside out and their Oil Free Massage Cream, which when combined with steam and massage techniques really help to soften and brighten the skin!”

The Microdermabrasion Treatment is great with facial treatments for special events skin renewal, for removal of hyperpigmentated skin after pregnancy and intense scaring from life long acne.  The treatment leaves your skin brighter and more even toned and less blotchy.  The number of treatments recommended depends on how much hyperpigmentation or scaring remains on the skin’s surface.

After the Microdermabrasion treatment, Ms. Davis used the Dr. Brandt Vacuum Pore Mask on my face and the Elemis Papaya Mask on my neck and throat with the professional Bionova Products for my in spa treatment .  The entire Bionova line of products; the cleanser, activator and massage cream are retailed at Shibumi.
