What do the Federal Reserve Bank, New York University, US Airways, Exelon Corporation, and an engagement ring have in common?  Jean Luma. These were all part of the trail that led to Luma's passion (and current occupation) as an accredited jewelry professional.

Luma had been working in human resources while searching for an engagement ring when he had an epiphany. “Who better than a gemologist would be best at selecting the perfect diamond," he wondered. "Who better, than me?”

As a consumer, Luma realized the market lacked the personal attention to his needs and know-how to purchase fine jewelry. During his nine months of research in finding the perfect ring, he quickly learned that only a gemologist was in the best position to stand toe-to-toe with a jeweler, debate the "4 C's" (carat weight, cut, clarity and color) and get the best price for his budget. 

With that in mind, Luma went to graduate school, attaining a degree from the Gemological Institute of America. As sole proprietor of Luma Diamonds Consultants, LLC, Luma and his staff offer personal gemological services to their clientele, specializing in the search for and evaluation of quality jewels, gems and time pieces.
